Howell Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Wednesday, June 3rd , 2026 Nobody has been able to shut down Carolina Mudcats second baseman Mitch Howell in recent days. The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers fared no better than the rest. Today at Mudcats Field, Howell picked up 2 hits in 4 at-bats en route to a win, 9-3. It stretched his hitting string to 20 consecutive games. Mitch Howell singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th and singled in the 7th.
