Howell Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Kannapolis Thursday, June 4th , 2026 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Mitch Howell as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 3 at-bats at the hands of the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. It wasn't all bad for the 20-year-old second baseman and the Carolina Mudcats however, as they defeated Kannapolis, 2-1, at Mudcats Field. When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Howell laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today." Thus far this year, Howell has hit .320 with 5 home runs and 31 RBIs. |
