Gomez Cracks 3 HR for Cannon Ballers Monday, August 10th , 2026 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Cannon Ballers-Nationals game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Kannapolis second baseman Tony Gomez thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Kannapolis to a win, 9-3, over Fredericksburg. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Gomez said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Gomez was 4-for-4 on the day with 8 RBI. Tony Gomez hit a two-run home run off Ken McManus in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Ken McManus in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Austin Miller in the 8th. For the season, Gomez is batting .383 with 31 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 15 times and batted in 20. |
