Roach Blisters Rancho Cucamonga Saturday, September 5th , 2026 A jubilant Jason Roach joined the postgame press conference at Quakes Grove to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Lake Elsinore Storm right fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 11-8 Storm win. "He made it look easy," said Earl McKay, manager of the Quakes. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Jason Roach grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the year, Roach has hit .295 with 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 13 runs. |
