Merrill Blisters Chicago N (ACL) Monday, July 27th , 2026 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Bobby Merrill, it came around today. The 19-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Brewers Gold Park to pace the 15-4 Milwaukee(ACL) Brewers Gold victory over the Chicago N (ACL) Cubs. Chicago N (ACL) skipper Perry Koelbl told reporters in the press room that "Merrill deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Merrill hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Bobby Merrill grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Danny Rivera in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Merrill is currently batting .513 with 4 home runs, 17 runs scored and 25 RBIs. His OBP is .537. |
