He blanked them, 12-0, on 4 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and no walks. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Ortega said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, ACL skipper Ben Chaney said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Rafael pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. For the season, Ortega has compiled a 8-0 record with a 2.54 ERA. |
