Texas(ACL) Stops Howerton Hit Streak Monday, August 3rd , 2026 The streak has been snapped. David Howerton failed to get a hit in today's game against the Texas(ACL) Rangers, bringing his 24-game hitting spree to an end. The 20-year-old ACL shortstop was 0-for-4, but the Athletics got the win and defeated the Rangers, 5-1. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Howerton said. "I got to 24 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" Howerton is batting .408 this year with 7 home runs, 49 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 73 hits in 179 at-bats. |
