Roland Batters Kansas City(ACL) Big Time
Tuesday, August 4th , 2026
Tony Roland knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Great American Ball Park, he made his case to be considered among that group.
The 19-year-old catcher hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Cincinnati(ACL) Reds fell, 8-5, to the Kansas City(ACL) Royals Blue.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Royals Blue manager Ethan Tyson told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Roland wasn't the difference."
Tony Roland singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Johnny Gerhardt in the 8th.
So far in 2026 Roland is batting .513 with 4 home runs, 17 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 39 hits in 76 at-bats and a .537 OBP.
