Padres Take Tight Tilt
|
San Diego Padres starter Alexis Fonseca pitched a strong game against the River Hills Rockets at PETCO Park, leading the Padres to victory, 4-3. Justin Branch earned his 25th save in 31 chances. San Diego is now 54-51, while River Hills is 44-61.
In the bottom of the 6th, pinch hitter Tom Albaugh gave San Diego the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Padres had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off River Hills pitcher Eli Montano changed that -- and San Diego went on to win.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Albaugh.
