Espinosa Bangs 4 out of the Park
Nothing could stop Marty Espinosa -- certainly not the Seattle Mariners pitching staff.

The 38-year-old first baseman for the Boston Red Sox sent 4 baseballs soaring out of T-Mobile Park and made his name a part of history. Behind his barrage, the Red Sox earned a win, 12-6, over the Mariners.

"In the standings, a loss is just a loss, but this one was frustrating," Mariners manager Joe Root said later. "He clobbered us."

Espinosa's dream game included 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 homers, 6 runs driven in and 5 runs scored.

"I know all the stories are going to be about me today, and that's OK," Espinosa told the press in the locker room after the game. "Next time, it'll be one of the other guys."

Marty Espinosa hit a two-run home run off Austin Hanson in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off David Peru in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off David Peru in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off William Moroni in the 9th.

In the 2026 season Espinosa is hitting .198 with 24 home runs.
