The River Hills Rockets could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jose Calvo into a win. Instead, the Minnesota Twins prevailed, 2-1. Calvo threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. Minnesota reliever Ryan Wallis picked up the win, raising his record to 5-1. Nate Welch was tagged with the loss. The win elevated the Twins to 62-51.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for David Simpson? The 29-year old first baseman Simpson stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Minnesota up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Every loss stings," said River Hills manager Blake Wheeler. "This one is no exception."
