Dodgers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Renegades, 5-3
The Lake Wylie Renegades got a superb performance from pitcher John Mannon, but the Los Angeles Dodgers still won the game, 5-3. Mannon threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. Los Angeles reliever Tim Taylor picked up the win to move to 1-0. Willie Farias suffered the loss. After today's action, Los Angeles sits at 25-34, while Lake Wylie falls to 32-28.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Manuel Pabon came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Lake Wylie pitcher Willie Farias, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Los Angeles on top, 4-3.

Pabon called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
