Great Day for Hayden -- 5 Hits Sunday, June 7th , 2026 After a 5-hit effort to lead Midland's 13-12 victory over the Frisco RoughRiders, center fielder Kevin Hayden told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Texas League-level is really something special." The 24-year-old player earned his accolades at RockHounds Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the RoughRiders. "His swing is getting there," said RockHounds skipper Brian Moreno, who spoke glowingly of Hayden after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Kevin did that to perfection." Kevin Hayden hit a two-run home run off Victor Garcia in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Emilio Juarez in the 5th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 9th. Hayden is hitting .319 for the season with 8 home runs, 29 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has 60 hits in 188 at-bats and played in 51 games. |
