Garrett Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Saturday, July 25th , 2026 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Bill Garrett is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at TinCaps Grounds. The monster effort from the 23-year-old left fielder helped the Fort Wayne TinCaps get the win, 12-2. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Kernels manager Adam Elmore. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Bill Garrett hit an RBI triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year, Garrett has hit at a .344 clip with 22 hits, no home runs, 4 RBIs and 11 runs scored. |
