Ludwig Smacks 5 Hits for Kernels Friday, August 7th , 2026 Riley Ludwig was sizzling at the plate. In a game played at Great Lakes Stadium, the Cedar Rapids right fielder blistered the Great Lakes Loons for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a good 9-6 victory. "Ludwig was too tough to get out," Loons skipper Justin Banton said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Riley Ludwig singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Steve Coote in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 10th. So far this year, Ludwig has hit .331 with 5 home runs, 33 RBIs and 45 runs scored. |
