Hickory to Lose de Luna for 4 Months

The latest news from the Hickory Crawdads clubhouse is this: reliever Antonio de Luna is expected to be out of action for another 4 months. He has a torn meniscus, sustained on 09/06/2026. de Luna expressed a bit of relief. "At least now I know," he said.
de Luna's record up to now is 2-and-0 with no saves and a 2.97 ERA. He has given up 37 hits in 33.1 innings with 18 strikeouts.

The quest for the South Atlantic League Round 1 championship gets underway today. The regular season is now over and the so-called "second season" begins. For fan and player alike this is the sweetest part of the season -- the Round 1. The baseball experts have made their predictions, but teams will do it or die on the diamond. The best team doesn't always win -- sometimes it's the lucky team that is fated to win the crown -- sometimes it's the team that gets hot late in the season that wins -- and sometimes talent wins out and takes the glory. SAL News Flash: Regular Season ends

The South Atlantic League regular season is over. The good clubs that made the playoffs are headed back to the ballparks to determine the league's top team, while the other teams can be found on the first tee, half-heartedly enjoying the offseason with mixed emotions.
It's playoff time, when the best teams play one another with the ultimate prize at stake -- the Round 1 championship.
