Coulson Gets July's Top Pitcher Trophy Saturday, August 1st , 2026 Mike Coulson left little doubt in the minds of South Atlantic League officials that he should be named July's Pitcher of the Month for his outstanding performance. "I wasn't always confident at the start of a game," said Coulson. "Sometimes it's hard to get into the flow -- the calls aren't going your way or you're trying to spot your pitches too much. You just have to relax and use what you've been taught all your life -- get back to basics -- good mechanics, control, location, keep the ball down." The 20-year-old tossed 24.1 innings of quality baseball -- going 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 13 strikeouts. This year in 10 starts, Coulson has recorded 8 wins and absorbed 4 losses. He has pitched 72.1 innings, allowed 87 hits, struck out 37 and has a 2.86 ERA. |
