Ramirez Sensational, 5-for-6 Thursday, June 11th , 2026 Ruben Ramirez was at the head of a DSL hit parade at Great American Ball Park. The catcher went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Athletics to a nice 20-5 victory over the Cincinnati (DSL) Reds. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Ramirez told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Reds skipper Enrique Becerra said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Ruben Ramirez hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Carl Rios in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Alvaro Barron in the 4th, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Johnny Ramos in the 8th. |
