Mendez Smacks 6 Hits for Padres 1 Monday, June 15th , 2026 Victor Mendez exploded for a barrage of base hits at Guardians 2 Ballpark. The San Diego (DSL) second baseman had a field day in his team's 26-6 triumph over the Cleveland (DSL) Guardians 2, finishing 6-for-7. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Mendez must have focused at least 6 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Victor Mendez doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th, walked in a run in the 9th and flied out in the 9th. Mendez has a .560 average and a .607 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 14 hits, no home runs and driven in 6 runs. |
