Marino Torches Rockies 1 for 5 Hits Monday, July 27th , 2026 It was a hits blitz for Sean Marino at Ballpark of Colorado (DSL). The Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates 2 shortstop tore into the Colorado (DSL) Rockies 1 for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Rockies 1 swept past the Pirates 2, 12-7, to ruin Marino's day. "We weren't locating our pitches well," Pittsburgh (DSL) manager Tyler Walker explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Sean was nice but it wasn't enough." Sean Marino hit a solo-shot off Josiah Crandell in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Looking at his stats this year, Marino has compiled a .415 batting average, while hitting 4 home runs and driving in 9 runs. He has played in 12 games and scored 11 runs. |
