Hits Galore: Long Drills 5 Hits Friday, August 7th , 2026 Today at St. Louis (DSL) Grounds, Miles Long put on an impressive display. The Los Angeles (DSL) Dodgers Robinson first baseman tagged St. Louis (DSL) pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the St. Louis (DSL) Cardinals Red by the score of 22-3. "The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Long said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, the Dodgers Robinson manager was unwilling to offer the first baseman much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses. "Miles told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Jeff Williams said. Miles Long singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this year, Long is hitting .364 with 5 home runs, 23 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
