Hit Streak for Orellana Reaches 20
Wednesday, August 12th , 2026
Win or lose, Emilio Orellana just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
The Philadelphia (DSL) Phillies Red shortstop went 1-for-5, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 18-3, by the Boston (DSL) Red Sox 1 at Phillies Red Park.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Emilio Orellana grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
In 37 games this season, Orellana has compiled a .393 batting average with 64 hits and 7 home runs. He has also scored 34 times and knocked in 36 runs.
