Yankees 1 Chill Torres Hot Streak
Monday, August 17th , 2026
It was a doubly miserable day for David Torres of the San Francisco (DSL) Giants 1, as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 2-0, to the New York A (DSL) Yankees 1 at Yankees 1 Grove. The 17-year-old right fielder was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Yankees 1.
"Anyone on a 22-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," New York A (DSL) manager Jerry Pounds said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
So far this season, Torres has put up a .377 batting average with 52 hits, 2 home runs and 12 RBIs.
