Nationals Chill Olmedo Hot Streak
Tuesday, August 18th , 2026
Hector Olmedo's 23-game hitting streak has now come and gone. It was snapped today as the Texas (DSL) Rangers 1 suffered a setback against the Washington (DSL) Nationals, 8-1.
Olmedo went without a hit in 4 trips to the plate. He was visibly upset during a postgame press conference, but it appeared that the streak had little to do with it.
"The hitting streak was one of those things where it was fun while it lasted, but I'm not going to lose any sleep about it tonight," he said. "On the other hand, I am going to lose sleep about dropping this game today."
So far this season, Olmedo is batting .324 with 6 home runs, 31 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has 78 hits in 241 at-bats, 13 walks and a .359 OBP. Olmedo has played in 55 games.
