Red Sox 2 Pitching Ravaged by Perez
Tuesday, August 18th , 2026
Philadelphia (DSL) Phillies Red left fielder Juan Perez had a day to remember at Phillies Red Park, ripping apart the Boston (DSL) Red Sox 2 and sparking the 14-7 Phillies Red win.
Perez wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Perez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Juan Perez hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
Perez is hitting .459 this season with 4 home runs, 30 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 85 hits in 185 at-bats.
