Wednesday, August 19th , 2026
The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Luis Delgado.
The second baseman for the Miami (DSL) Marlins hit the milestone against the Detroit (DSL) Tigers 2, helping his club to a narrow 8-7 victory. Delgado finished with a 5-for-7 line at the plate.
"Delgado was a tough out," Detroit (DSL) manager Jonny Brown told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one."
Luis Delgado singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
Delgado is hitting .285 this year with 5 home runs, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has 35 hits in 123 at-bats, 12 walks and a .362 on-base percentage. Delgado has played in 38 games.
