Harper Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Tuesday, August 25th , 2026 The Atlanta (DSL) Braves may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 8-1, to the New York N (DSL) Mets 2, but David Harper continued to hit like a god. The catcher collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Harper is playing great and is on fire right now," Braves manager Mark Stiver said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Harper was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." David Harper grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Kevin Knight in the 4th, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 7th. Harper is batting .541 this year with 9 home runs, 22 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 40 hits in 74 at-bats. |
