Bramlett Goes on Rampage Against Rays 1
Wednesday, August 26th , 2026
Today at Diamondbacks 2 Park, Mark Bramlett put on an impressive display.
The Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks 2 shortstop tagged Tampa Bay (DSL) pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Tampa Bay (DSL) Rays 1 by the score of 7-2.
"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Bramlett said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, the Diamondbacks 2 manager was unwilling to offer the shortstop much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.
"Mark told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Kevin Gonzalez said.
Mark Bramlett doubled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 40 games this season, Bramlett is batting .444 with 64 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 28 runs and driven in 30.
