Hurtado Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Los Angeles (DSL) Saturday, August 29th , 2026 For 21 straight games, Alex Hurtado tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy. Well, the 21-year-old Chicago A (DSL) White Sox center fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Los Angeles (DSL) Angels. The Angels held him hitless in 3 at-bats at Rate Field and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 21. There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the White Sox took the win by the score of 6-3. "I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now." On the year, Hurtado has hit .371 with 6 home runs, 22 RBIs and scored 25 runs. |
