Thompson Joins 3-HR Club Sunday, August 30th , 2026 Whatever Corey Thompson ate for breakfast before his game against the Detroit (DSL) Tigers 1, it gave him some impressive power. The Philadelphia (DSL) left fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Tigers 1 Park. His home run barrage helped the Phillies Red defeat the Tigers 1, 8-5. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-4, scored 3 times, drove in 5 and put on a display that history will remember. Corey Thompson walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Devon Johnson in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Devon Johnson in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Steve Gibbons in the 9th. So far this year, Thompson is hitting .368 with 5 home runs. |
