Yankees 1 Jeffers Smacks 5 Hits Sunday, August 30th , 2026 It was a sensational day at the plate for Troy Jeffers as he led the charge to a nifty 13-10 win over the Guardians 2. The New York A (DSL) catcher was pure misery for the Cleveland (DSL) pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Jeffers put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Matt Schroeder, manager for the Guardians 2, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Troy Jeffers doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. |
