St. Louis Swaps Espinal to Texas for Saathoff Tuesday, July 28th , 2026 A trade was announced today at a press conference in St. Louis. Not satisfied with their current roster, the St. Louis Cardinals general manager shook things up by acquiring 22-year old minor league C Jason Saathoff and 17-year old minor league LHP Frank Villa from the Texas Rangers for 26-year old minor league RHP Cesar Espinal. "We're a better team now," Cardinals general manager Matt Hill said. "We've added several pieces to the puzzle." So far this season, Espinal has worked 3.2 innings in 4 relief appearances with 0 saves. He has dished out no strikeouts and walked 9 with a 0-1 mark and a 22.09 ERA. |
