Detroit, Arizona Agree to Swap Friday, July 31st , 2026 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Tigers and Diamondbacks have agreed to a swap. Arizona will get 23-year old minor league LHP Justin Hager, 24-year old minor league RHP Steve Buckingham, and 23-year old minor league C Bob Merlo with Detroit receiving 26-year old minor league RHP Pedro Guerrero and $270,000 in cash in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. So far this season, Guerrero has compiled a 0-1 won-lost mark with no saves and a 8.44 ERA. In 16 innings he has fanned 18 and opponents are hitting him at a .284 clip. |
