Atlanta, San Francisco Finalize Trade Friday, July 31st , 2026 According to BNN there were mixed emotions by the players involved in the trade between the Atlanta Braves and the San Francisco Giants. As part of the deal, the Braves swapped 28-year old C Matt Lerch and $280,000 in cash to the Giants getting 17-year old minor league RHP Antonio Montes and 23-year old minor league 3B Jack Johannesson in return. The players indicated it was good to get a fresh new start in another city, but it was difficult to leave your friends on the old team. Lerch is batting .206 this season in 75 games with 7 home runs, 33 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 46 hits in 223 at-bats. |
