Royals, White Sox Swap Players Friday, July 31st , 2026 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Royals announced today the acquisition of 27-year old 3B John Murphy from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for 21-year old minor league RHP Jamie Nelson and 21-year old minor league RHP Javy Landaverde. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Royals, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." This year, Murphy has socked 24 hits in 88 at-bats for a .273 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .379 pace and his totals also include 9 RBIs and 9 runs scored. |
