Pirates-Blue Jays Deal: Montes for Murphy Friday, July 31st , 2026 The Pittsburgh Pirates have released a statement confirming the trade of 17-year old minor league LF Pedro Montes and 16-year old minor league RHP Edwin Pineda to the Toronto Blue Jays for 28-year old RHP Joey Murphy and $680,000 in cash. The deal was finalized today. Murphy has gone to the hill for 27 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-4 record with a 7.24 ERA. The Pittsburgh reliever has limited opposing batters to a .328 batting average. |
