Filkins Strokes 3 HR Against St. Louis Friday, August 7th , 2026 The St. Louis Cardinals won't soon forget the display of raw power by Johnny Filkins of the New York Mets. He victimized the Cardinals by pounding three pitches out of Busch Stadium to spark his club to a win, 9-1. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," Filkins told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow, I could just pop up the same pitches and go 0-for-3." In addition to the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. Johnny Filkins grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jordan Godinez in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Amir Minter in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Bill Parsley in the 8th. This year, Filkins is hitting .338 with 38 home runs and 84 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .443 clip and scored 73 runs. |
