Cleveland Loses Caravantes for 7 Months Wednesday, August 12th , 2026 Alfonso Caravantes had hoped for the best, but expected the worst. Today, he learned from the Cleveland medical staff that he would miss the rest of the season. The Cleveland starting pitcher suffered a fractured elbow in an earlier ballgame. He admitted to being discouraged, but said he plans to come back strong next year. On the season, Caravantes has compiled a 6-8 mark with a 4.79 ERA in 18 starts. In pitching 97.2 innings he has 72 strikeouts and 30 walks while limiting the opposition to a .236 batting average. |
