Pittsburgh's Degree to Retire

Jalen Degree is stepping away from the game of baseball at the end of the season. The Pittsburgh Pirates player gave a brief explanation to reporters this afternoon.
"It's time to step away from the game and work on phase two of my life - world domination," the 38-year-old joked.
Degree wisecracked for several minutes while reminiscing about high and low points of his career. At the end of the session, Degree sent a personal message.
"I truly thank all you fans."
To date Degree's career stats show a 6-7 record with 3 saves and an ERA of 4.21. He has fanned 121 opposing hitters and held them to a .265 average.
