Baesman Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Washington Tuesday, August 18th , 2026 St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Dave Baesman finally met his Waterloo. A 30-game hitting spree is now history after Baesman was unable to make anything happen in 5 at-bats today against the Washington Nationals. Fortunately for Baesman and the Cardinals, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game, 7-2. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 30 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." This season, Baesman has hit at a .345 clip with 7 RBIs, 0 home runs and 6 runs scored. |
