Blue Jays Chani and Athletics Strickhouser Suspended for Fight Tuesday, August 18th , 2026 If there wasn't a history between Chris Chani of Toronto and Billy Strickhouser of Athletics, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Chani said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." At the moment, Chani is batting .216 with 5 home runs and 28 RBIs. He has played in 86 games and scored 24 times. To date this year, Strickhouser has compiled a 8-5 mark with a 4.23 ERA in 12 starts. |
