Chicago-Lake Wylie Fight Results in Suspensions

After an intense confrontation, both the White Sox Matt Taylor and the Renegades Bob Woodard were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Chicago-Lake Wylie game. Matt Taylor will miss 4 games, while Bob Woodard was suspended for 9 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Matt Taylor commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
This year, Taylor is batting .289 with 16 home runs.
Woodard has compiled an ERA of 4.01 so far this season, winning 3 games with 2 losses and no saves. In 41 relief appearances he has hurled 33.2 innings, yielded 32 hits and struck out 31. Opposing hitters have batted .258 against Woodard.
