Filkins Wins Best Bat Award in August Tuesday, September 1st , 2026 Johnny Filkins made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the National League this past month. The New York Mets first baseman shined through the month of August and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 23-year-old hit .362 with 11 home runs, 26 RBIs and 23 runs scored. For the season, Filkins is currently batting .342 with 45 home runs and 102 RBIs. In 131 games he has reached base at a .439 rate and scored 87 runs to date. |
