Super Swinger -- McKay Slams 5 Hits
Saturday, July 25th , 2026
The Tampa Bay (FCL) Rays stopped the Pittsburgh (FCL) Pirates Gold by a score of 16-9 at Pirates Gold Ballpark, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Warren McKay. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," McKay said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
McKay did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Pirates Gold.
"Not much that I can say," offered Pittsburgh (FCL) manager Bill Davis. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Warren McKay hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
So far this year, McKay is batting .538 with no home runs, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
