Monster 3-HR Day for Fernandez Friday, August 7th , 2026 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Marlins-Red Sox game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Miami (FCL) center fielder David Fernandez thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Miami (FCL) to a win, 17-8, over Boston (FCL). "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Fernandez said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Fernandez, who is tied for 5th in the in hits with 66, was 5-for-7 on the day with 7 RBI. David Fernandez singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Nick Doss in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Pat Schaefer in the 7th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Miguel Alvarado in the 9th. Currently Fernandez is batting .335 with 7 home runs and 25 RBIs. |
