Red-Hot Schuber Scorches Blue Jays Tuesday, August 25th , 2026 After a 5-hit effort to lead Pittsburgh (FCL)'s 14-13 victory over the Toronto (FCL) Blue Jays, right fielder Keith Schuber told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Florida Complex League-level is really something special." The 21-year-old player earned his accolades at Rogers Centre with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Blue Jays. "His swing is getting there," said Pirates Gold skipper Bill Davis, who spoke glowingly of Schuber after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Keith did that to perfection." Keith Schuber hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jessie Marks in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Schuber on the season is hitting .338 with 7 home runs. His stats include 31 RBIs and 30 runs scored. |
