Schultz Muzzles Montgomery Offense

Rob Schultz of the Mississippi Braves spun his magic on the Montgomery Biscuits. He blanked them, 14-0, on 4 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and no walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Schultz said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Mississippi skipper Travis Mariani said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Rob pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
So far this season, Schultz has 2 wins and 9 losses and a 2.56 ERA.

Biloxi's Maxwell SL's Best

When it came to hitting the baseball, Cody Maxwell had few peers in the Southern League this past week.
The talented center fielder for Biloxi tagged opposing pitchers for a .545 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 12 hits in 22 at-bats, 1 homers, 5 runs scored and 5 RBIs.
This year, Maxwell has batted at a .319 pace with 74 hits, 7 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 32 times.
